Immigration Alert: U.S. to Lift COVID Travel Bans on November 8th
October 18, 2021News sources are reporting that, effective November 8, 2021, the Biden Administration will rescind present country-specific COVID travel bans in favor of a general vaccination requirement.
Until the new travel policy is formally implemented, travelers will remain subject to COVID restrictions which are presently in place. We will continue to monitor this situation closely, and provide updates as they become available. - Currently, non-essential travel to the U.S. is prohibited from the following areas: Brazil, China, India, Iran, Ireland, Schengen Area countries, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
- Under the new policy, travelers will be required to show proof of having received a full COVID vaccine, prior to being granted entry to the U.S. This rule will be generally applicable, to travel from all geographies.
- In addition to the vaccination requirement, travelers will remain subject to existing COVID testing rules, requiring a negative COVID test taken within one day of travel.
